HomeBudget with Sync App Reviews

Tried many similar applications and this one suited my needs the best! I use it to track expenses for my rental properties and office expenses. Only thing missing is that it only accepts PNG attachments would like to be able to attach PDF. Another great add on would be to be able to export all the receipts that were attached. Overall fantastic application

Two months after installation, the program does not open, gives an error "unexpected shutdown". Return the money!!

Its too much for what its brings No Auto Sync with Bank Account No Forecast The reports are too simple with no added-value i don’t know how you can sell this crap for twenty box ...

It was a great app, but after last software update, it is not even opening anymore!!! No forecast to have this problem solved according to support and no option to do the downgrad. Realy disappointed!!!

I am able to keep track of all my expense but at the same time see my savings in different financial institutions. Its easy to use since it will sync all info on my iphone, ipad and macbook. There is some small glitch with the Mac version…guess its still under development, but its not really a big deal. LOVE IT!

Theres a bug where I cannot import OFX/QFX files. Junk.

Thank goodness Anishu finally made a MacBook Pro edition. I have used Homebudget on my iphone and ipad for over 2 years and have absolutely loved it. I have current and timely financial information at my finger tips. I know what Im spending, where Im spending it, what my bank balance is. Now that I can integrate my MacBook into the process it is even better. My devices are great for entering information on the fly, but My MacBook gives me the opportunity to review my expenditures in a more comfortable environment. My iPhone and iPad now sync automatically with my MacBook Pro and the changes show up in seconds. If Im working on my budget from my laptop, HomeBudget sends the updates to my iPhone and iPad virtually instantly. The syncing of my mobile devices to my Mac happened seamlessly. No problems at all. Thank you!!!

Great app for the price lets me budget things. One issue ive found is that you cannot change all items to CAD currency. Not really a problem since i only deal with one currency and can just use USD but it is a bit annoying. Also no retina support yet. Other than that no problems at all.

When updating your bank account this program does not support any Canadian banks!

The app makes it easy to track expenses and sync data between devices (Mac, iPad, iPhone). However there appears to be some minor glitches with the OS X version, where I have experienced some budget amounts get out of sync. This makes it difficult to update budget entries in prior periods because of built in date validations. Budget updates also done on iOS devices dont seem to flow back to OS X devices. The Lookback by Category Report on the OS X version of the app does not display variances (budget less expenses) but the iOS version does. Overall the app works good, and I find it very useful.

The budgeting program itself is awesome. But syncing is a big problem. I installed this on 2 Macs, 1 iPad, and 2 iPhones. The data was always out-of-sync all the time. I tried re-syncing with original data several times but over time the devises were always out by a few transactions. As we were a family trying to use one master budget, we bought the app because it was called "HomeBudget with Sync". Unfortunately it was always unreliable so I never trusted the information on any devise. Our family members keep comparing balances and something was always amiss. We wasted money purchasing the app twice on two different machines and purchasing the iPhone app twice. Very disappointing. We have since moved to using clearcheckbook which works perfectly and the data is always in sync.

This is the 2nd time entering 2 months worth of data and it sorta crashed… I would have to re-enter again…will look for another software. They did try to help me, only avail by e-mail. Tried what they told me, it didn’t work.

Cannot enter a bill payment that is paid by transfer as the icon to save is completly gone. If I enter it on my Ipad I am fine but I cannot create or edit it in my Mac or MacBook Pro. Such a disappointment as it affects all credit card payments. No response from Anishu since mentioning the problem and I am very disappointed as it otherwise works very well.

I be using this app for my iPhone for a few years and its awsome. Now that I have a MacBook Pro, I decided to also buy this app for my new laptop. I simply created a familly group and voila everything is sync with no problem at all.

I was quite happy with the program... until the latest update. Now it wont even open. Ive not been able to find a way to revert back. Very disappointed!

I also tried to install the update for this program and am now unable to access the Home Budget at all! I really liked the origianl version of this App., and am really disappointed with the update results. Hope theres a fix for a really super idea!

Since this upgrade the HB screen continuously flashes, so my HB is now unusable on my MacBook Pro. An urgent fix please!

thanks ive been waiting for a long time for you guys to create a desktop version. only one thing remains unsolved in my opinion income categories. and you will have made a perfect accounting software

This app is so far the best budget app there is for both mac and iphone. They take users mail into account really seriously as they have added all the futures I have ever asked. This app is so customisable that you can run your whole business transactions and normal budget all together with seperate categories and subcategories, you should definitelly give it a try!!!! :)

This could be good app but few things need to be improved: 1 Reminder for recurring expenses 2 Differend types of charts for reports or foerecast. No line chart for Mac….? 3 Payees summary for each week, month. 4 Sync doesnt work properly- balance accounts are not the same for both devices.
